Be Green 2: $42 light bulbs

Anyone interested in $42 light bulbs? Some say you can actually save money by using them

The latest great idea to light up the home or office is the LED light bulb.IFC was placed on two-year probation in February following an incident led tube of hazing that occurred after an IFC ceremony in November. Yes they're pricey at $42 a pop, but they use up one tenth of the energy consumed by regular light bulbs.
"That would normally be 60 watts if it's LED it's only six watts so the energy saving is huge and these light bulbs have a life, we say 25 years if it's used normally,IFC was placed on two-year probation in February following an incident led tube of hazing that occurred after an IFC ceremony in November.” said Bruce Okimoto of the Hawaii Home Expo.
Okimoto says the pricey bulbs also save money when compared to CFLs, which burn two and a half times the energy of LEDs. Plus the CFLs don't last nearly as long. Okimoto says certain brands like the Fawoo bulbs come with a reliable warranty, and for an even greener touch, are manufactured without the harmful chemicals.
"No lead,Starting in 2012, federal law says manufacturers can no longer sell the familiar, 100-watt incandescent bulbs people fluorescent lights have used for years to illuminate the front porch or garage. no mercury, so very friendly to the environment,” said Okimoto.
Green technology just keeps moving forward. Manufacturers are also making toilets more environmentally friendly. Toilets that used up three to five gallons per flush are disappearing and have been cut down to one-point-six gallons per flush. Now there's something even better.A built-in dock is attached to the battery and when DSTT not in use folds up in a nice compact manner to about half the size of the iPhone itself.
"They've improved it so much that they actually have now ultra-low flush toilets that flush at 1.28 gallons per flush. So in a commercial application or even for your home the savings is tremendous,” said Okimoto."PEOPLE ARE calling out (to our leaders) for (officials) to be responsible for inflatable swimming pools their misdeeds," declared Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo in his homily. With the "big fishes" hooked, he added,
That adds up to about a 20 percent savings on your water bill. A family of three to four people would conserve nearly two thousand gallons of water a year compared to the current standard toilet of 1.6 gallons per flush. Of course, it also means spending considerably more for the energy efficient toilets. But Okimoto says more people are spending more, realizing that the extra cost will come back in the long run.
